Completing the 'Master Certificate in Certified Professional in Sensory Considerations in Photography with Vulnerable Adults' at Stanmore School of Business was a game-changer for my career. As a social worker, I often incorporate photography into my therapy sessions with elderly clients, but I lacked the technical knowledge to adapt it for those with sensory sensitivities. This course provided me with actionable strategies, such as adjusting lighting and composition to minimize overstimulation for clients with dementia. The module on ethical considerations was particularly eye-opening—I now have a clear framework for obtaining consent and respecting boundaries. The instructors were fantastic, blending theory with real-world examples from their own practices. I’ve already applied what I learned in my last session, and my client’s family was amazed at how engaged she was during the photo shoot. Highly recommend this course to anyone working with vulnerable adults!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this course, but it exceeded my expectations. I’m a photographer specializing in portraits, and I wanted to expand my skills to work with adults with disabilities. The section on sensory-friendly photography techniques was a revelation—learning how to use textures, colors, and even scent integration to create a comfortable environment for clients with autism was invaluable. The course materials were well-structured, with video demonstrations that made the concepts easy to grasp. One of the highlights was the case study on a client with cerebral palsy; watching how small adjustments in camera angles and pacing improved their experience was inspiring. While I wish there had been more hands-on assignments, the feedback from instructors was thorough and constructive. This certification has already helped me attract new clients who specifically seek photographers trained in inclusive practices.
As a occupational therapist in Sweden, I’m always looking for innovative ways to engage my clients. This course on sensory considerations in photography was exactly what I needed! The focus on adapting photography sessions for adults with intellectual disabilities was incredibly practical. I loved the detailed breakdown of how tactile elements like props and different camera settings can influence a client’s comfort level. The module on legal and ethical frameworks was particularly thorough, covering GDPR and local Swedish regulations—which is crucial for my practice. I’ve since implemented some of the techniques in my therapy sessions, and the results have been fantastic. One of my clients, who usually struggles with traditional therapy activities, was able to express herself through photography in a way she never has before. The instructors at Stanmore were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly supportive, providing personalized feedback. This course has given me a new toolkit to enhance my clients' well-being—10/10!
I stumbled upon this course while looking for ways to make my photography workshops more inclusive for adults with visual impairments. The 'Master Certificate in Certified Professional in Sensory Considerations in Photography' at Stanmore School of Business was a fantastic resource! The instructors did a brilliant job of explaining how to adapt photography techniques for different sensory needs. I learned so much about using auditory cues, tactile feedback, and even temperature variations to guide clients through a photo session. The practical exercises were especially helpful—I now feel confident guiding a visually impaired participant through composing a shot using verbal descriptions and physical touch. The course materials were comprehensive, with downloadable guides and checklists that I still refer to regularly. My workshop participants have really appreciated the changes, and I’ve received great feedback. The only reason I’m not giving it a full 5 stars is that some of the video content could use updating. Overall, though, this course was worth every minute and has significantly improved my ability to create inclusive art experiences.
